The redevelopment of Boston’s Seaport District is the largest urban redevelopment project in proximity to a major downtown in the United States. Located across from Boston’s Financial District and narrowly separated by the Fort Point Channel, the 1,000 acre plot is Boston’s newest, most innovative and diverse neighborhood.
The comprehensive development plan, known as the “Public Realm Plan” and the more localized “100-Acre Master Plan” are products of years of collaborative efforts among artists, property owners, urban planners and government officials. Over 35 acres of surface parking lots will be transformed into a 24-hour, mixed-use neighborhood featuring:
